Its heritage as a firm, round bilge, heavy displacement work launch ensured superior sea-keeping and stability. Through the development of a self-draining cockpit with the diesel engine located entirely under the floor, and the provision of full headroom throughout the cabin, galley and toilet shower cabin, the ISLANDER became a uniquely quiet and comfortable craft, overcoming the disadvantages of the traditional half-cabin.
Overall arrangement & FIt out
The standard of outfit is of a higher quality than normally found in similar sized craft currently available in Australia. Many fittings have been purpose designed and manufactured to our own specifications to maintain the high degree of strength and appearance required throughout the ISLANDER range.
The external arrangement features a fully self-draining cockpit and fore-deck, with a non-skid surface moulded in to all working areas. The fore-deck is provided with a moulded anchor and rope storage well, a stainless steel bow tail and bow roller, heavy duty mooring bollard and stainless steel grab rails behind the windscreen and on the cabin roof.
The cockpit is fitted with a helmsman's chair for the skipper and advanced sofa type seating for four or five people on either side. This seating is built to hire boat specification width and length for sleeping; consequently, two adults can sleep here, making five adults sleeping overall. These side 'sofas' have storage bins built in under the seating. The upholstered backrests and rails around the cockpit which are all built from GRP for long life and little maintenance, and are all in the one unit. If deck chairs are preferred, then the 'sofa' arrangement can be deleted.
Protection for the skipper and the cockpit is provided by the toughened glass windscreen, incorporating a windscreen wiper and a full fibreglass canopy over the cockpit under which there is 1.93m headroom.
The aft deck has port and starboard mooring cleats and a full width boarding platform which is fully moulded into the transom leading through a wide gate into the deck area. On the platform is a swing-down stainless steel ladder for swimmers to board the boat from the water, and a freshwater shower to rinse off under.
Port (red) and starboard (green) navigation lights are fitted to the cabin sides and an anchor/steaming light on the top of the hardtop. The anchor light must be on and used at night in conjunction with navigation lights whilst underway. Whilst at anchor, the anchor light should be on at night. Night entertaining lights are fitted to the underside of the hardtop.

The party boat
There's the 'slow food' movement, and now we reckon the next big thing is 'slow boating', as more people cotton onto the idea that fuel is very dear and speed zones make it smart to go slower.
The boat that typifies the trend is the 6.2m Deltacraft Islander. Or should we say the 'new' Deltacraft Islander; because it's really a re-make of an older design that dates back to the late 1970s and earlier concerns about a fuel crisis.
We go boating for the enjoyment derived from being free from daily worries, to be one with our environment, to relax, to have fun or spend time with our loved ones and friends, and of course, to go fishing. So, for us to build the PARTY BOAT was inevitable.
Our Mission Statement, 'To put pleasure into families' lives and their leisure time by building for them one of the world's finest pleasure boats at the most affordable price possible', sums it all up for us, and along with the ISLANDER, the PARTY BOAT is designed to fufil what the ultimate party boat should be:
- Four Fishing Stations
- BBQ Galore Stainless Steel Barbecue
- Marine Stereo with Bluetooth & Marine Speakers
- Full GRP Hardtop & Covers
- Rod Holders built into the Stainless Steel Rail, along with Can Holders
- Forward Table with Seating for at least 6 or more around the U-shaped lounge
- Seating for 10 People
- Rear Gate Entry
- Sink with Fresh Water
- Room to Dance! The floor area has been widened to give room for perhaps more deck chairs or even an extra, table, esky, 12v fridge, towels to lie on. So much space!
At any rate, she has been NSW Maritime Approved as a Drive Yourself Hire Boat for 10 people (900kg, 2E and 4E).
This means that the safety value of approved construction, full buoyancy and stability (Government incline tested) is built in and very reassuring. Yes, the PARTY BOAT is perhaps the best all round hire boat built in Australia, but is available for private users, or maybe you would like to own your own and have it hired out as well.
